Intel ICH5R RAID-0 Fail on Device-0

PC had a problem last night – Trend Micro & Open Office had a Java fight, caused a BSOD and upset the ICH5R. At first the RAID would not even boot. The RAID was stating, that an error occurred on device-0 and boot had failed. I left it off over night, concerned the drives had gotten hot, or something. When I hit CTRL+I to enter the RAID configuration via BIOS it allowed the “Restore” of the RAID. This allowed me to boot again with no discernible data loss. Using Intel Matrix Storage Console for ICH5R (my RAID chipset), marking the Port-0 device as normal, fixed this issue. The BIOS has stopped reporting “Error Occurred” on device-0, port-0, too.

In my case:
Abit IC-7
RAID-0 of 2*Seagate 80Gb
Windows XP Pro.

May happen that this helps others.
